Travel and Stay

Travel to town folk

The best and most environmentally friendly way to travel to Town Folk is public transport.

Take the train from Melbourne on the Bendigo line. 1 hour 20 mins to Castlemaine. Then 15 min walk to the festival.

The last train back to Melbourne departs at 10.01pm (before the festival ends) but Vline have arranged a special bus service departing at 11pm from Castlemaine Train Station and stopping all stations to Southern Cross.

If driving to the event, please use the free parking at Don KR factory. A free shuttle bus will transport you from there to the site (2 min drive).

A free shuttle bus will run from Campbells Creek Football Netball Club aka Camp Town Folk to and from the festival. First serves departs from camp at 11.30am and will run on a 30 min loop all day. All ticketholders are welcome to jump on. See map below.

Getting Around Town Folk

The main stage is on the Sunken Oval, a wide open grassy space where you can plant a camping chair or picnic blanket for the day. The other stages are a short walk (200m) away at The Bridge Hotel and Shedshaker Taproom. All three venues are outdoor with limited shade.
